Welcome to
Planet and Go!

In case some of you may have been wondering where I’ve disappeared lately, I think you can see what I’ve been up to! Welcome to my new and improved ‘Planet and Go’ travel blog!

Welcome to Planet and Go and my new logo!

Why redesign my travel blog?

After spending so much time traveling, I’ve decided to refocus my efforts in the travel blogging world to help others plan their trips, answer your questions and offer as much advice as possible to those looking to venture out across the world. I can remember starting out and pre-planning my trip almost a year before I finally left home, and how useful it was to be able to find travel bloggers out there that could help me find the information I needed and answer the many questions I had. Now I want to return the favor and shift the focus of my site in a whole new direction. Sure, you’ll still find me posting about my travels along with all of the crazy experiences but you’ll now find new sections on this travel blog.

Just some of these new sections are:

My inspiration page, created to help motivate and encourage others to travel which also has fun, shareable travel quotes that I’ve found extremely inspiring.

A whole new area covering my travel destinations which are categorized in a much easier format that lists blog posts covering my travels through those specific countries.

A dedicated planning and advice page with articles that will help you to save money, know what to expect when traveling and help with pre-trip planning.

My resources page, which lists as many of the useful sites I came across both before leaving on my trip as well as the ones I use to this day.

A travel map and stats page which will continue to grow with little orange dots as well as random recounts of every aspect of my travels such as the number of times I’ve been hit by oncoming traffic.

And a new format used for presenting photography from my travels. As much as readers like to go through travel photos, now I have nearly all of them in one place that is easily navigated via SmugMug.

Just one of the many great pinnable travel quotes you’ll find on my new Inspiration page!

I was also looking for a way to recreate and present many other aspects of my travel blog. New sections such as solo travel, food and culture and my traveler series section where I’ll share the posts of other travel bloggers that can offer completely different insight and share unique travel experiences. I’ve also created a new ‘Did you Know‘ section that will cover all the interesting and unique differences in cultures as well as fun facts around the world.

In addition, one thing you’ll find very different on this new site is the fact that it’s responsive. So now there will be no issues trying to view the site on mobile devices, which is great and very functional since so many readers nowadays are using smartphones and tablets on a daily basis.

Who’s behind this newly designed travel blog?

I want to give a big shout out to the designers of this new travel blog, Further Bound! I discovered Hannah and her partner Lee through another travel blogger and I’m so glad that I did. Hannah helped me to create a new vision with the site,  take and tweak some of my ideas, offer new ones, as well as put all the different aspects together into what you see before you in a well designed and easily navigable site. I would whole-heartily recommend her for any design work you need done and she was a pleasure to work with. What’s more is she is also a travel blogger as well which really helped her relate to what I wanted to recreate through this new site design. A Big Thanks to them both!! Check out Hannah’s blog at Further Bound as well as her design portfolio page.

Why the new name and logo?

There was a lot of thought that went into deciding whether to change the name of my travel blog as well as finally deciding what that name would be…  ‘Planet and Go’ came about after many many days of mulling over options and I feel it really encompasses what this site is about and direction it will take moving forward… Much more so than what it had been about before. Let me know what you think about it! It was not something I had originally planned to do but think it will really help exemplify this travel blog and hopefully draw future travelers to a place where they not only find help planning their trip but also find the inspiration (and motivation) they need to turn their travel dreams into reality as I had done.

Tell me what you think!

I really hope you enjoy the new layout and I’d really love to hear your feedback on the new site and design! In the process, I’ve also created a great eBook which you can get below that includes 25 of my favorite landscape photos including the travel stories behind each of them! Signing up is also a great way to keep up with all the new articles and posts that will be getting updated as this site grows!
