Do you need to Travel for a Year to See the World?

While putting together my last video “RTW Travel Year in Review” I came across a video that defines whether you need to really travel for a year to see the world (or even a few months for that matter). I think so many of us feel we need to ‘wait till retirement’ to travel, to see the world, or simply to do the things in life we really want to do but I don’t buy into that idea… Do you need to travel for a year to see the world?Maybe that’s obvious from this blog! However, in my efforts to share my travel experiences with the world through this site, I really do hope to also inspire others to travel themselves… whether its to the places I’ve ventured before or anywhere for that matter. So do you need to travel for a year to see the world?

This video I’ve found is a story of a guy that was given an ‘assignment’ by Nike to make a movie on what it means to ‘Make it Count‘. Well, he instead decided to take the sponsorship to travel the world and see as much as he could see until the money ran out. While I of course don’t advise to run around the world as fast as you can until you’re broke, this video is definitely inspiration to what you can really see and do in as little as 10 days!

Of course, had this been a pre-planned trip, I’m sure he could have turned it into weeks or months! Costs get pretty steep on flights when booked at the last minute and hopping all around the globe!

Travel for a Year around the world

-or-

Travel around the World in 10 Days…

And I realize 99.99999% of us won’t be given any type of ‘sponsorship’ by Nike to do such a thing however, the point is what is possible in ten days… a few weeks or even a couple months for that matter… At least showing what’s possible to do travel wise in such a short amount of time. What do you think?

That was only 10 days??? What did they do, one day in each place?

Haha, that’s exactly what I was thinking! It sure was a lot of ground to cover in such a short amount of time! I don’t think I’d ever want to travel that fast but it definitely goes to show just how many places you could visit with very little time. Maybe they could qualify for some kind of Guinness world travel record or something…
